The IP and IK rating give an indication of the resistance to dust, water and impact resistance. Each code gives a different degree of resistance.
IP rating This coding indicates how well the product is resistant to dust and water.
IP20: Not waterproof, use indoor lighting.
IP23: Drip-proof.
IP40: No protection against water.
IP54: Protection against splashing water from any angle.
IP44: Splash-proof, suitable for outdoor use.
IP65: Fully water resistant.
IP67: Fully dust and water resistant.
IP68: Fully dust and submersible resistant.
IK rating This coding indicates the impact resistance of the lighting fixture. For example, thinkof a ball or a bicycle hitting a lamp. If the lamp explodes completely on the first contact, then it lacks solidity, and the IK code will be low.
IK00: No resistance.
IK01: Resistance to shocks of m0,15 Joule.
IK02: Resistance to shocks of 0.2 Joule.
IK03: Resistance to shocks of 0.35 Joule.
IK04: Resistance to shocks of 0.5 Joule.
IK05: Resistance to shocks of 0.7 Joule.
IK06: Resistance to shocks of 1 Joule.
IK07: Resistance to shocks of 2 Joule.
IK08: Resistance to shocks of 5 Joule.
IK09: Resistance to shocks of 10 Joule.
IK10: Resistance to shocks of 20 Joule.
